How Refractional unites its hardware and software projects on neevio

Refractional develops precision eye-scanning devices that bring clinical-grade vision testing into clinics, pairing optical engineering with the software that reads results.

The problem

Before neevio, Refractional ran planning, specs, and delivery tracking in separate tools. Status was assembled by hand each week, which meant it was accurate on Monday morning and stale by Tuesday afternoon.

The cost was not the tooling bill. It was that nobody could answer “where does this actually stand?” without interrupting the person doing the work.

What changed

Refractional moved initiatives, specs, and cycles into a single workspace. Every issue carries the reasoning behind it, and progress reports itself from what actually moved rather than from what someone remembered to type.

  • One system for roadmap, specs, and delivery — no re-entry between tools.
  • Handoffs carry their context, so work does not stall waiting for an explanation.
  • Weekly status is generated, not assembled.

The result

— and a standing status meeting that no longer needed to exist.
